Bailee wrote and then gave her first oral book report a few weeks ago. This was something that she wanted to do and not something that was required of a first grader. She had finished reading "The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe" and this was the book she chose for her report. While I did tweak the report in a few spots, Bailee wrote this report on her own.
She has since read "Prince Caspian" and is currently reading "The Horse and His Boy." Not too shabby for a six year old.
