Fun Friday!

As I said in my last post, school has started and that means that Fun Friday is back!  Fridays are a lighter day of school for the girls and so we try to plan field trips on Friday.  This time we went to Brunaeu Sand Dunes.  And for the second year in a row, we all made it to the top!  Morgan was pretty sure she couldn't make it and that she might even die, but she did it!

This time we decided to walk along the ridge of all the dunes.  We had never done this before, and it was quite the hike.  I took some pictures, but they just don't capture how big these things really are!

Can you spot Mom?

Mom, Morgan, and Bailee.  This picture gives you a little bit of an idea of the size.

The girls decided that they would roll and scoot along the dunes calling, "Water, water!"

The astronomical society mans an observatory up there.  They set up a few telescopes that we could look through, and they pointed out objects in the sky.  We also went on a little walk looking for scorpions.  They glow under a blacklight which is really cool and fun to see.  The girls really liked that part.

It was a fun day, and we were excited that there was a chance for us to see the Northern Lights.  Supposedly we were in a "good" viewing area, but we never did see them.  Mom and I were really hoping that we would.  Oh well.  It was still a good day.
